Message from Rev. Gordon Savage
November 17, 2010I know that it came as a very great shock to you all, as it did to Mairi and me and the boys, to learn of my illness. I want to thank all of you for the messages of support and good wishes, and above all for your prayers.
The first weeks of treatment have been difficult, and perhaps only those of you who have had chemotherapy will know what I mean by the overwhelming sense of exhaustion, which engulfs the patient. But the care and support of the medical staff, together with the encouragement of many friends, have kept me going.
It is also a consolation to me that the congregation is in the good hands of Donald Campbell, Sandy Geddes and Colin Sutherland, and of the many members who have undertaken extra tasks during my absence. Thanks to you all.
Gordon M.A. Savage
