The resident organist Mr Stephen Crosbie and colleague Mr Alistair McEwan have arranged to entertain us with a varied selection of light music. This follows on from a very well received musical evening held last September. Again cameras will be strategically positioned by the organ to show, on the big screen, the organists while playing.
Refreshments will be provided after the event.
Tickets £7.50 (Children under 16 accompanied by an adult – free)
Payment can be made at the door on the night
Guid Nychburris Songs of Praise
On the evening of Sunday 9th June 2013, an event, which has been heralded a roaring success in recent years, is once again being held in conjunction with the Guid Nychburris festival and celebrations
The Guid Nychburris Songs of Praise, which is organised by the Dumfries Christian Network, will again be held in the Dumfries High School. The band for this year’s event is from the Dumfries Baptist Church under the leadership of David Currie.
During the service there will be the usual presentation to the Queen of the South elect, the Cornet and the Cornet’s Lass, the bibles being, as in the past, donated by the DCN.
An offering will be uplifted to further the work of the DCN.
The event, which has become a talking point, is not one to be missed and is a wonderful opportunity to have a BIG SING!!
Doors open at 6.30 and coffee, tea and biscuits will be available from 6.30 to 7.20pm.
DCN has been involved with the organisation of the Guid Nychburris Songs of Praise Service for many years. We are glad to continue this tradition for 2012 with music once again being provided by the Salvation Army Govan Citadel Band.

FAITH IS THE KEY MUSICAL
‘Faith is the Key’ is a musical which centres on the events after the
crucifixion. How did the disciples and the friends of Christ feel after he
was dead? What did they think would happen to them? Did they really believe
that he would rise from the dead? ‘Faith is the Key’ focuses on the
confusion of the apostles and especially of Peter, troubled after his denial
of Christ, and Thomas, the doubter, who would not believe in the
Resurrection.
The parish community of St Andrew’s Dumfries is proud to present this
musical as part of their 200th Anniversary Celebrations. It will take place
in the church on Sunday 12th and Monday 13th May at 7.30 pm. Tickets cost £5
and are available at the church, on the door or (in some cases) from your
church representative. You can get further details (or book tickets) by
calling Mary on 01387 710510.
All proceeds to the Parish Outreach Project.

HYMNS OF PRAISE EVENING
The Hymns of Praise Evening in aid of the Organ Fund on Sunday 24th March unfortunately has been cancelled. However, members of the congregation are still being asked to submit their favourite hymns to either Rev Liz Mack or Stephen Crosbie so that a future event can be arranged.
