In this programme we are joining with over 10 million Brownies, Guides and Girl Scouts for their annual Thinking Day Service. This year their theme to think about is Peace Building. How can we be Peace Builders? How can we achieve peace? Members of the Maxwelltown West Brownies take part with our Locum David Matheson.
St. Valentine’s Day! Love is in the air! But aside from our declarations of love traditionally made at this time, who was St. Valentine? Did you know there were three saints with that name? Today, our Locum David Matheson searches out their history as we celebrate God’s eternal love for us; and we make an ‘Essential’ journey to the Netherlands…
On this final Sunday in January we complete our journey through the First Letter of St. Peter wher he is encouraging us to be Good Shepherds of God’s chosen people. The Service has been recorded virtually using Zoom.
In today’s Service we continue our journey with St Peter and his Letters, and we reflect upon Being Good Servants; there’s also a flavour of Robert Burns in this celebration as well. Our Locum for the Service is David Matheson.
Our Service today continues with St Peter’s Letters – in which he asks us to present ourselves as Living Stones, as we build a sanctuary vibrant with life and become God’s holy people. The Service is conducted by our Locum, David Matheson.
Welcome to our first service for the New Year under lockdown as we journey with our Locum David Matheson and over the next few weeks start to look at the writings of St Peter. Today we will see how HOPE, Christian Hope, is held as one of the foundations of our faith.
